Shopify app
The FitMyType app is the quickest setup on Shopify. It connects your products, orders and returns, adds the size button to your theme as an app block, and tracks carts and orders with its own pixel. It covers steps 1 to 3 of the setup; you only check the result in step 4.
1. Install the app
- Open the install link your FitMyType contact sent you, signed in to your Shopify admin.
- Check the permissions it asks for (read products, orders and returns; nothing is ever changed) and choose Install.
- The app opens on its home page. Its checklist shows each step with a button that takes you to the right place in Shopify. FitMyType starts importing your catalogue and your order history.
2. Add the theme app block
- In the app's checklist, choose "Add size button". The theme editor opens on a product page.
- In the product information section, choose Add block, then pick "Size recommender" under Apps. Drag it next to the size picker.
- Choose Save. The button shows on every product page that uses this template.
In the theme editor the block shows a placeholder button; the real button shows on your shop. If your theme has no app blocks (older or custom themes), use the theme snippet instead.

3. Turn on "Track carts and orders"
- In the app's checklist, choose "Track carts and orders" and turn it on.
- The app adds its own pixel under Settings › Customer events. It runs only for visitors who accept analytics, and sends add to cart and orders to FitMyType.
- If you added the custom pixel before, disconnect and delete it now.
The pixel sends Shopify's checkout as checkout with its total to
/events/pixel/shopify; FitMyType stores it as an order (transaction_end). On Shopify only
the pixel sends cart and orders: do not add the tag's cart or
transaction_end calls to your theme.
